Path to Protiviti: “I interned at Protiviti in 2011 and continued full time beginning February 2012 after graduating from the University of Florida.”

What do you enjoy about building your career at Protiviti? “The thing I value most at Protiviti are the individuals that I have worked with and the personal, professional, mentoring relationships that have been created through my career here. The Orlando office leaders have done a great job of creating a consistent and quality culture when hiring, which has resulted in a true family atmosphere.”

Who has contributed to your success or been a mentor to you during your Protiviti career? “Jose, a Director at Protiviti, has been a primary mentor for me throughout my career here at Protiviti. I have worked on many projects with him throughout the years and appreciate him taking me under his wing on day one and giving me great sound advice whenever I needed it.”

What memorable experiences stand out to you at Protiviti? “Some of favorite memories have come from the Challenge Schools (training programs) that I have been able to both attend and facilitate throughout the years.”

If you could sum up Protiviti in 1 word, what would that word be?“Culture”

Who has contributed to your success or been a mentor to you during your Protiviti career? “My Career Advisor, Executive Advisor, Engagement Managers and Managing Directors all play great parts in my career development at Protiviti. Not only do they provide helpful feedback on my performance, they also take time to connect with me on a personal level. They make me feel very comfortable and confident that I am in great hands!”

What memorable experiences stand out to you at Protiviti? “Team bonding events are always very memorable (happy hours, team meals, client events, etc.) but the ones that stick out the most are when the team gets together and celebrates one another’s birthdays. This goes to show that not only do you play an important role in the engagement and deliverables, but you are also appreciated and respected as a team member.”

Robert Half Earns LGBTQ Best Place to Work…AGAIN!

Our parent company, Robert Half, was named for the second year in a row to Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” with a perfect score of 100%. This score was earned on the national benchmarking survey and report on corporate polices and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. As part of the Robert Half enterprise, Protiviti collaborated with the Robert Half team to achieve this accolade, and we are proud to be among a record 600+ major businesses that also earned the CEI’s top score.

At Protiviti, as part of our ongoing commitment to our people, we have a number of Employee Network Groups that support our Diversity & Inclusion initiative. The proPRIDE is a national group with ~150 members that began in 2013, whose mission statement includes the below:

  • Increase visibility and awareness of LGBTQ employees at Protiviti
  • Foster a better understanding among Protiviti employees of the unique issues the LGBTQ community faces in the workplace
  • Provide equal employment and advancement opportunity to all, regardless of sexual orientation
  • Enhance recruitment efforts of LGBTQ talent
  • Promote and sustain an inclusive environment wherein every employee is treated with respect and dignity, free from discrimination and prejudice

As we look forward to closing out another successful year here at Protiviti, we’re so proud to announce that we’ve been named to Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list for the second time! Winners were determined entirely based on Glassdoor feedback provided by employees over the past year. With an overall company rating of 4.3, Protiviti stands proudly at #47 out of 100 on the Best Places to Work U.S. Large Companies list.

As a recruiter, I often get asked questions about what differentiates Protiviti and makes it a great place to work. With the news of the Glassdoor award, I couldn’t help but to reflect and I came up with my top 5 reasons I think Protiviti is an extraordinary place to grow a career.

Our Culture, Our People – Company culture is huge. It’s one of the top factors in employee retention and a strong determining piece for prospective candidates. At Protiviti, all our employees have a voice in building the best culture. Our people are empowered to be creative, pitch new ideas and get involved – and they are pretty great at doing so.  This, in large part, can be attributed to the fact that they themselves are quite amazing. I’ve been fortunate enough to call many of my co-workers friends, and that is what #LivingProtiviti is all about.

Opportunity to Grow and Be Challenged – As a fairly young company (in the game since 2002), Protiviti is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. Not only are we growing in size, but Protiviti also offers employees a wonderful opportunity to grow and be challenged in their careers. Within both the practice and operations, cross-collaboration allows employees to build out their skill sets and see a diverse array of project work. Congratulations to an Emerging Leader!

Congratulations to Canberra’s Senior Manager Alissa Irgang, named to Internal Auditor magazine’s Emerging Leaders list! Alissa earned a spot on this prestigious ‘Who’s Who’ of up-and-coming internal audit professionals who are “ambitious, talented practitioners steeped in the profession, poised to take on new challenges, and ready to lead.”

Alissa leads Internal Audit for Protiviti Canberra and runs the office’s internal audit training program. She has successfully led innovative audit approaches at over thirty companies and government departments. Alissa was also the Australia lead in Protiviti’s first global Project Management Office for a major project, reporting directly to the client executive in the U.S. In addition, her thought leadership on corporate governance has been published in the Company and Securities Law Journal.

She is chair of the IIA Australia’s ACT Chapter Council, where she created and launched the first IIA mentoring program in Australia. Additionally, she is vice chair of the Australia National University Young Alumni Council where she regularly organizes networking and speed-mentoring sessions for students and young professionals, and has presented at multiple career development events for students.

As Alissa looks to the future of internal audit, she notes that technology is rapidly pushing the industry forward. “Everything is changing, and the future is already here,” she says. “To remain relevant, we need to evolve with it.”
