How are you celebrating this important milestone in your career? “We had a big get together with extended family to celebrate this significant milestone.  This was particularly a proud moment for my parents, seeing how far their kids have come from the day when they immigrated to U.S., leaving behind their entire life for a promise of better future for their kids.  For them and for me, this milestone was the realization of the American Dream.”

Outside of work, what do you enjoy? “I love spending time with my family, I have two girls, 6 and 8, and they are very demanding with my time outside work, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Who has contributed to your success or been a mentor to you during your Protiviti career? “I would have to say my Managing Director, mentor and role model, Scott Laliberte.” Scott is our Global Security & Privacy Solutions leader.

What are some of your most memorable Protiviti experiences? “This is a difficult one since there are so many memories, but, one of my most memorable experiences would have to be the team paintball outing we had where I get to paintball down my boss!”

Years at Protiviti: “6 years”

Path to Protiviti: “I interned at Protiviti in 2011 and continued full time beginning February 2012 after graduating from the University of Florida.”

Current Solution and/or Industry focus: “IT Audit / Business Continuity Management”

What do you enjoy about building your career at Protiviti? “The thing I value most at Protiviti are the individuals that I have worked with and the personal, professional, mentoring relationships that have been created through my career here. The Orlando office leaders have done a great job of creating a consistent and quality culture when hiring, which has resulted in a true family atmosphere.”

Who has contributed to your success or been a mentor to you during your Protiviti career? “Jose, a Director at Protiviti, has been a primary mentor for me throughout my career here at Protiviti. Sanket Patel

Protiviti Director, Jose, had this to say about Sanket:

“From the moment that Sanket joined our firm, he has made a positive impact on our office, our clients, our team, and my career, personally.  He and I have worked almost exclusively together throughout his tenure at the firm and he has remained as steady of a performer as they come.  Further, no matter how many client projects he is juggling or how much responsibility that he has taken on, Sanket can always be depended on to deliver a high quality, on-time result.  One of the things that I’ve specifically enjoyed about working with Sanket is that he always maintains a positive attitude and outlook, no matter the engagement or how many deadlines are piling up.  This, in turn, helps his team and even his management remain optimistic and truly believe that we can accomplish amazing things for our clients together.  I’d like to personally thank Sanket for his tireless, outstanding performance on engagements, the investment that he makes in developing our people, for making a positive impression on our clients, and truly living all of Protiviti’s core values.  I don’t think that I would be where I am in my own career were it not for strong, talented people like Sanket supporting me along the way.  This promotion is extremely well-deserved and I look forward to witnessing the many great things Sanket will achieve in his career at Protiviti.  I’m proud of you, Sanket!”

Congratulations, Sanket! From Intern to Senior Manager, we are glad to have you here at Protiviti.

Global Multicultural Talks Occur Between U.S. and Australian Offices

Earlier this year, the Charlotte, NC office formed a local chapter of Protiviti’s Multicultural Employee Network Group, whose purpose is to promote an inclusive work environment for all.  One of the main objectives of the group is to create a more collaborative work environment by focusing on understanding diverse perspectives and listening to our people. With that very thought in mind, Ashley, an Experienced Consultant in the office, coordinated efforts with her peer, Annalise, in the Canberra, Australia office. Together, the two who met at Protiviti’s training program, scheduled an international video conference!

Canberra
The Charlotte & Canberra offices during their video conference!

You might be thinking, “what about that whole time difference thing?” — and that would be a valid thought. With 16 hours difference between the two cities, coordination wasn’t exactly easy, but the teams made it work! While the Charlotte group enjoyed their dinner on the call, employees in Canberra were snacking on their breakfast. Total, there were about 20 employees present to discuss everything from employee network groups to work culture.

In sitting down with Ashley, I was able to get some more perspective on the takeaways from the call. One thing that Ashley found to be interesting was the difference in some of the employee networking groups. The Canberra office had emphasized their wellness program, which focuses on health, fitness and well-being, and their women’s network presence was still growing. Charlotte has not formally started a wellness group (…yet!), although it sounds like this is something that may be in the works as an outcome of this call. Other discussion topics included perspectives on networking and how it is viewed culturally, as well as time spent just getting to know one another.

When asked what her biggest takeaway from the call was, Ashley stated, “even though we are worlds apart, across Protiviti, we are very similar in terms of the unity and cultural vibe”. In the future, it sounds like more international video conference calls may be on the horizon! We are thrilled that technology has allowed our employees to communicate so personally despite living in different countries.

Los Angeles Visits Hogwarts for End of Year Office Meeting

To celebrate the end to a magical year, the Protiviti Los Angeles Office transformed into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a nostalgic Quarter 4 2017 Town Hall Meeting. Wizards from all solutions gathered at the Hogwarts Great Hall and were sorted into four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. First, wizards were enlightened with Muggle updates from each of  Protiviti’s four Cornerstones. To end the meeting, each house competed in the Tri-Wizard Tournament to win the House Cup! The challenging contests included Wingardium Leviosa, Harry Potter Pictionary, and Quidditch.

During Wingardium Leviosa, everyone paired up with someone they do not have an opportunity to work with daily and took turns ‘levitating’ a feather in the air without using their hands. When the feather hit the floor on someone’s turn, they lost. Each winner then continued to find new challengers until one Wizard was left standing. Our winner for this challenge was consultant, Melissa, who dove and dipped to beat her fearless competitor, consultant Leo.

The next tournament game was Harry Potter Pictionary! A member from each house was given a Harry Potter themed word or phrase. They would then draw clues using no words and whichever house guessed the word first wins! Our resident Harry Potter Fan Girl, consultant Heather, took the lead! Fun fact: Heather started Dumbledore’s Anteaters at UC Irvine, a Harry Potter fan and cosplay club!

And for the final game we played Quidditch! A member from each house tried to score as many points by tossing their ping pong ball through a hoop within 1 minute.

After all points we tallied up, Hufflepuff was the reigning house of Hogwarts! Following the games, we all had our fair share of Butter Beer and Canary Creams at our End of the Year happy hour!

All of this Wizarding fun was featured on Protiviti’s Instagram Story! Don’t miss out on future magical action – be sure to follow us at @Protiviti! Instagram
